Q. What’s your role with bringing our new festive range to life?
As the Category Manager for desserts, my role involves briefing our suppliers on the kind of products we’re looking for this year, working around some of the key market trends, including alcoholic desserts, nostalgia, classics with a twist and of course ginger.
Q. Could you tell us a little about the process of developing new products in our range?
After the initial brief is sent out, we work closely with our suppliers to brainstorm ideas with their product development teams. We then hold plenty of tasting sessions as a category team. Once we have selected and finalised the range, products go through lengthy product trials to ensure they’re of the highest quality, and finally they’re then ready to launch to our customers.
Q. What’s your favourite new product from this year’s range and why?
My favourite product this year is our vegan white & dark chocolate cheesecake. It is an exemplary vegan product, rich, creamy and decadent whilst also being light as a feather. It’s also gluten free so it ticks all the boxes.
